Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Lee Harris to the Tenth Court of Appeals, Place 2, for a term set to expire on December 31, 2026, or until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified.

Lee Harris of Whitney is Judge of the 66th Judicial District Court in Hill County. Previously, he served as the County Court at Law Judge for Hill County and as a partner with Moore & Harris, Attorneys.

Lee lives in Whitney. He  is a graduate of Baylor Law School. He received his undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He is married.

Before taking the bench, Harris was a partner at Moore & Harris. Serving primarily as a litigator, Harris tried numerous civil and criminal jury trials. From November 1999 to August 2005, he served as District Attorney Pro Tem of Hill County. Harris prosecuted approximately 600 felony cases during that time.

Lee Harris has a bachelor s degree in agriculture from Stephen F. Austin State University and a law degree from Baylor Law School. He and his wife, Holly, live near Peoria, Texas. They have daughters, Elizabeth and Sarah, and two grandsons. He is a deacon at Peoria Baptist Church.

Lee is a judge on the Texas Tenth Court of Appeals. He previously served as a judge for the County Court at Law of Hill County and the 66th Judicial District Court in Hill County. He also worked as a partner with Moore & Harris, Attorneys. He has served as an adjunct professor in the Practice Court program at Baylor Law and as a Jaworski Fellow.
