Angela was born and raised in Brazoria County where she graduated from Angleton High School before attending Texas A&M University to obtain a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Mays School of Business.

Angela is an active member of her church and a devoted wife and mother.  Angela is married to Derrick Dees, also a lifelong Brazoria County resident, and together they have 4 children.  Angela began her first term as Brazoria County Treasurer when she was sworn in on January 1, 2023.

Since graduating college, Angela has had extensive business experience in Brazoria County as a Commercial Loan Officer for multiple local financial institutions.

She has been an integral part of managing the financial component of her familys construction, real estate, and ranching businesses.

Her purpose of seeking the position of Brazoria County Treasurer is to maintain the high standards previously set and to uphold The Constitution, while ensuring Brazoria County continues in a position of strength and stability and is poised for its inevitable rapid growth for the remainder of the decade.

Angela runs her office with integrity and transparency.

About Steve Sanders

Education

B.B.A. in General Business, B.B.A. in Management from Lamar University.

Steve Sanders earned bachelor's degrees in general business and management from Lamar University. He is married to Dominique, and they have three children.

Steve Sanders is a husband, father, veteran, and community leader committed to service, integrity, and accountability. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, learning the value of discipline, teamwork, and responsibility. After his military service, Steve continued serving others as Secretary-Treasurer of his union, where he was entrusted with managing finances transparently and representing working families.

Beyond his work in the labor movement, Steven is deeply involved in his community. He holds several key positions, including President of the Local 24 Employees Federal Credit Union.

Steve Sanders

- Receives and deposits all county revenues, and records receipts and expenditures while reconciling bank statements.
- Acts as chief liaison between the county and depository banks, disburses funds upon the order of the commissioners court, and might prepare payroll.
- Could be selected as county’s investment officer and submit regular reports on county finances to commissioners court.
- Can also be county’s human resources officer, employee benefits coordinator, risk manager, insurance coordinator, and assist with audit responsibilities.
- County treasurers are elected through partisan, county-wide elections to four-year terms. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, have been a Texas resident for at least 12 consecutive months, a county resident for at least six consecutive months, and registered to vote in that county.
- The annual salary for county treasurer ranges from $23,230 to $161,047, depending on the county.
