An honors graduate of Howard Payne University, and a graduate of Southern Methodist University Law School, Kerye has been practicing law since 1979. He was a partner in the Paris, Texas, law firm of Flanary, Flanary & Ashmore from 1979-1985 before operating his own private law practice for several years and beginning a long career as a prosecutor.
