Toni Wallace

Toni Wallace has a bachelor 27s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and a law degree from South Texas College of Law. 

Toni is a judge. She has served as the presiding judge of Fort Bend County Court at Law No. 4 since November 2018. She previously served as an assistant district attorney with the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office. She also practiced law in private practice, handling criminal defense, juvenile matters, probate, real estate, family law, mediation, and ad litem appointments. Earlier in her career, she practiced insurance defense and real estate law with Houston-area law firms. 

Toni is currently the presiding judge of Fort Bend County's County Court at Law No. 4. Before that, she served as the inaugural judge of County Court at Law No. 5 after being appointed in 2016.

Toni is a judge. She works as the Presiding Judge of County Court at Law No. 4 in Fort Bend County, Texas, where she has been since November 2018. She previously served as the inaugural judge of County Court at Law No. 5 following her unanimous appointment in 2016, worked as an Assistant District Attorney with the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office prosecuting felony, misdemeanor, juvenile, domestic violence and drug court cases, practiced law in private offices handling criminal defense, juvenile matters, probate, real estate, family law, mediation and ad litem appointments, and taught Business Law, Ethics and Trial Simulation courses as an adjunct professor at Texas Woman’s University and Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Toni M. Wallace is currently the Presiding Judge of the Fort Bend County Court at Law No. 4 in Fort Bend County. She was elected in 2018. She was first appointed in 2016 as the inaugural judge of County Court at Law No. 5 and later became one of the first African American judges elected countywide in Fort Bend County.

As a judge, brings extensive legal experience from her service as both a prosecutor and defense attorney.

Engages in outreach presentations for school districts, youth organizations, professional associations, and civic groups throughout Fort Bend County and the greater Houston area.

- A County Court-At-Law judge handles misdemeanors, such as assault of a family member, property theft between $750 and $2,500, and using force against a law enforcement officer. They also handle civil cases where the amount in question does not exceed $200,000. 
- County Court-At-Law judges conduct arraignments, pre-trial hearings, and jury trials, as well as accept guilty pleas. 
- They are elected in a partisan, county-wide election to a four-year term. 
- Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, at least 25 years old, have been a Texas and county resident for at least 24 consecutive months, a practicing lawyer and/or judge in Texas for at least four years, and registered to vote in that county.
- The annual salary for County Court-At-Law Judges ranges from $174,000 to $244,500, depending on years of service and how much they receive as a county supplement.
