Brigid is a Travis County Commissioner for Precinct 2. She works at the Travis County Commissioners Court, where she has been since 2014. She previously served on the Austin City Council from 1993 to 1996, worked as a journalist reporting for NPR stations in Minnesota and Philadelphia, consulted on the City of Austin’s Clean Water Program to fix leaking sewer lines, and co-founded Carbon Shrinks, a consulting firm advising companies on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
