Aber is the associate director of partnerships at CUNY CLEAR, where she provides legal representation and support for people affected by national security and counterterrorism policies and practices. She previously worked at the Arab American Association, where she helped pass the Community Safety Act, which established new protections against police profiling and increased transparency for the NYPD.
