Jacob P. Ford is from Benton, Kentucky. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Kentucky and a law degree from the Louis D. As an assistant attorney for the Marshall County Attorney's Office for four years, prosecutes civil and criminal cases under state law on behalf of the county attorney’s office, supervises legal and clerical staff, and conducts interviews with victims and witnesses in ongoing cases.

As an assistant attorney general for the the Office of the Kentucky Attorney General for three years, advised the attorney general on the appropriate penalties to seek during criminal prosecutions, served as a point of contact between the attorney general’s office and other government officials, prosecuted high-profile criminal cases, and provided legal counsel and representation to public officials in civil suits against the government.
