Amy Burke is from Grant County, Kentucky. She attended Eastern Kentucky University and the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University.

Amy is an attorney with the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General, where she heads the Criminal Branch. She previously served as the chief prosecutor for the Kenton County Attorney's Office, where she specialized in prosecuting cases involving serious injuries to children, dependency abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and sexual assault. She also served as an assistant deputy attorney general for criminal litigation and the chief of child support services. Earlier in her career, she worked as a law clerk and an assistant county attorney for Kenton County. Amy has also served as an assistant commonwealth's attorney for the 16th Judicial District in Kenton County, where she prosecuted felony cases ranging from drug crimes and gun violence to sexual assaults against children. She has also served as faculty at the National Advocacy Center and the Kentucky Prosecutor's Institute. Since 2001, she has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Northern Kentucky University in the Department of Criminal Justice Studies.

Amy is currently the Chief of the Criminal Branch of the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General. She previously served as the Chief Prosecutor in the Kenton County Attorney's Office.

Legal Experience

- District court judges hear civil, criminal, and juvenile cases, as well as, small claims (involving $2,500 or less), landlord eviction cases, and cases related to domestic violence and abuse.
