• Public Safety — Even constables without law enforcement power can use a flashing blue light or siren on their vehicle if approved by the county’s legislative body. That body can revoke that power from any constable if there is a question of public safety or abuse by the constable.

• Judicial Efficiency — A constable who can quickly and successfully deliver legal notices makes the court system more efficient.
