Mayor Terry McAllister told WLKY Investigates reporter Madison Elliott that he hopes to generate $200,000 in revenue to give raises to the city's police officers. “So we have one of two choices: increase the pay to get more police officers and keep the ones we have or do away with the police department,” he said. Currently, the department has five part-time police officers, with a sixth starting in July. They make around $26 an hour.
