Alex Garcia earned his bachelor's degree in psychology and his law degree from the University of Kentucky. He lives with his partner, Katie, in Lexington, Kentucky. 

Alex is a Major in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps at the United States Army Reserve, where he provides legal assistance to service members and their families. He previously worked as a Kentucky prosecutor for over a decade, handling cases from misdemeanors to one of the largest criminal trials in state history. He then spent three years practicing education law, protecting students and ensuring civil rights compliance.

Alex currently serves as an associate chief legal officer with Fayette County Public Schools and a judge advocate with the United States Army. He previously worked as assistant attorney general in the Office of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, and as an assistant commonwealth's attorney at the Fayette Commonwealth's Attorney's Office.
