The two agree on providing the nation with free healthcare, also known as Medicare for All, raising the federal minimum wage, legalizing cannabis and marijuana, and enacting term limits in Congress.

As a teacher, Compton believes the government can do more for educators like providing them with resources and paying them more. He also believes standardized testing should be eliminated and school funding should not be tied to test scores.

Linderman has signaled support for free or significantly cheaper education for all, and implementing classes like shop, home economics, trades, and apprenticeships back into high schools.

Linderman has focused a lot of his campaign efforts toward what he calls the “Contract for Rural America,” which breaks down his ideas for broadband services, support for family farms, energy subsidies, and drug abuse and prevention.

Compton’s priorities are focusing on environmental matters like green energy. He supports the Green New Deal, a congressional resolution laying out a plan for tackling climate change.

Compton also supports investments in mental and medical care for veterans, saying veterans should be provided with complete medical care.
