Steve Norton is originally from Jefferson County, Georgia. He studied at Augusta Technical School and Augusta College. He has two children. 

Steve currently serves as Vice Chair and District 3 member of the Jefferson County School Board. He was first elected in 1996 and is serving his seventh current term.
