Abolish ICE

Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) is a new agency, it was only created in the last 25 years. It has become a cruel, broken way to engage in immigration enforcement. The agency is rotten to its core. We must completely abolish ICE and create a humane immigration policy. Being a border state, Arizona has a key role in the national conversation. We must support our immigrant neighbors. Remember that you live on stolen land.

Medicare for All

Healthcare is a human right, and providing that care is the responsibility of the government. Healthcare on Tribal lands is mandated by treaties and we must respect those treaties. Additionally, let us expand on that idea. Healthcare should be a right for everyone.

Legislative oversight is key to ensuring Federal commitments are adhered to. We will raise our voices and ensure that allocation of funds meet the guidelines of Federal commitments. Angela, Mae, and Jamescita will also push our state towards Medicare-For-All in any way they can at the state level.

Believes healthcare is a human right and that government is responsible for providing it.

Save Public Education

Public Education is the most important investment we can make as a state. Our youth are our future and a strong public education system is needed to set our young people on the right path. Over the last few decades in Arizona we’ve seen the result of our underfunded public school system. We rank near last in the nation in most categories and that is because we’ve refused to properly invest in our children. With the recent expansion of the ESA program to allow for universal vouchers we are now seeing schools closing around the state, over $1 billion being looted out of the system, and over $124 million approved with 0 oversight. This will have the most negative impact to our rural communities where public schools have been dealing with decades of budget cuts and under-funding. We must repeal the universal voucher program, pay teachers and staff a fair wage, and support our students' mental health. We must once again prioritize public education in our state.

Protecting the Environment

Our world is a living being and all life is tethered to Mother Earth. We are all in this together. We must focus on de-growth and slowing gas production. The best solution is to switch to renewables immediately. Nuclear energy is a false climate solution. The burden should not be on Indigenous, low income communities, but Indigenous and low income communities should be at the forefront of planning the solutions.

Tribal Sovereignty

Arizona has 23 indigenous tribes. Arizona must recognize the authority and sovereignty of the tribes to govern themselves. For far too long the federal and state governments have exploited indigenous people. If the state legislature plans to sell state lands, it should be first offered to indigenous tribes for $1 (which is more than what the US Government paid to tribes).

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Minimum wage is detrimental to our economy. When minimum wage goes up cost of living increases. Minimum wage has been used as a tool to deceive people into thinking they will have more money when they will not.

First Responders

We need to make sure our first responders have the tools and knowledge needed to complete their tasks. Whether it's our firemen, law enforcement, EMTs or paramedics. We need them to be able to do the tasks they are expected to accomplish. We need to make sure these areas are properly funded & shown the respect they so greatly deserve.

Issues | Lloyd Johnson For AZ

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

We need to make sure police have funding needed to protect our communities.

Border Security

We need to tightly control our borders. There should be no way for drugs, terrorists & human trafficking to be able to come across our borders. If families want to come to America to become productive American citizens, there are procedures to follow.

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

None. We have lost to many people to abortion. We have allowed the death of babies who could have grown to solve many of the worlds problems such as cancer, diabetes and so many other situations.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Our tax dollars should never go to kill the unborn.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Absolutely none. We should not be required to put things into our bodies that we strongly appose.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C. We don't need to waste our tax dollars on frivolous and unnecessary medical decisions.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

I am a strong advocate of Vocational Education

Vocational training refers to instructional programs or courses that focus on the skills required for a particular job function or trade.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

It's wrong to require parents to pay taxes to public schools when they have to pay to educate their children by other means of their choice.

Parental Rights

Schools forcing children to be taught through the lens of Critical Race Theory or other forms of Critical Theory such as Critical Gender Theory are stripping the individuality of their students and replacing it with a a collectivist group identity. Critical Race Theory is a progressive means to label the white race “oppressors” and the black race “oppressed.” It is a method used to divide people based on the color of their skin. The post-Marxist ideology is against parental desires and must not be allowed as a lens through which our educators educate in any school. I support common sense legislation that keeps the parents firmly in charge of what their children are taught in our schools. I support common sense legislation that supports school choice.

Advocates for vocational education and training programs.

Supports education funding that follows students to public schools, private schools, or homeschooling.

Wind Turbines
 Not green energy, Greed energy.
More energy is required to build, transport, assemble & operate than will ever be created by wind turbines!
Wind turbines are are an environmental nightmare. They have no place in Arizona. They aren't efficient or economically sound.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

We could more efficiently produce our energy using natural gas, clean coal & hydroelectric power. Using large wind turbines make the ground they are on useless for future needs. The amount of concrete going into the ground can not be removed.

Here in Arizona, looking after our agriculture is a job we need to take seriously. We need to safeguard Arizona's Agricultural land from urban sprawl and development. It is important to promote sustainable farming practices that protect the environment. We should support Arizona farmers and ranchers through subsidies and other initiatives where needed. It is important to encourage Arizonans to buy local produce and products whenever possible.

Opposes wind turbines in Arizona, citing environmental, efficiency, and economic concerns.

Election Integrity

We have seen enough evidence from the States that there were voter irregularities throughout the 2020 & 2022 elections. We must protect the sanctity of one of our most important institutions. We must restore voter confidence by eliminating corruption, increasing legislative oversight, cleaning voter rolls, and reforming our vote-by-mail system. We must have security systems in place to identify tainted ballots. To simplify the system, perhaps we ought to return the masses to in-person voting with two forms of identification. This would exclude people who need to vote by mail such as active duty service members and college students.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Election fraud has become a serious problem. It would be nice if we were able to trust that people were who they claim to be, but with all the deception of today we need to make certain that every legal vote counts.

The U.S. Term Limits pledge is provided to candidates and members of state legislatures. It reads, “I pledge that, as a member of the state legislature, I will cosponsor, vote for, and defend the resolution applying for an Article V convention for the sole purpose of enacting term limits on Congress.”

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

The Electoral was put in place for a reason, we don't change the rules in order to win elections.
