Zyahna “Zy” T. Bryant is originally from Charlottesville and attended Charlottesville High School. She has a bachelor's degree in African American studies from and is pursuing a master's degree in history at the University of Virginia.

Zy currently works as an advocate for education and social justice. She previously served as a student school board representative during her senior year at Charlottesville High School and as a member of the Virginia African American Advisory Board, where she was appointed by Governor Ralph S.
