Jim Dillenbeck holds a bachelor of arts in history from the University of Virginia and a postbaccalaureate teaching certification from James Madison University. He and his wife, Tamsey, a registered nurse at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, have four adult children. They have lived in the Charlottesville-Albemarle area for over 30 years.

Jim is a financial advisor at Northwestern Mutual. He has been in this role for 21 years. He previously taught social studies and coached at Albemarle High School from 1990 to 1997 and taught at Linkhorne Middle School in Lynchburg from 1987 to 1990. After leaving the Albemarle County Public Schools, he worked as a sales and customer service representative for Lakeland Tours/WorldStrides, helping teachers plan educational field trips.

Supports revamping current grading policies to encourage timely assignment completion and preparation for graded work, rather than relying on retakes.

Supports recruiting volunteers, including university students, high school seniors, and retirees, to tutor and mentor at-risk students in grades 1-8.

Supports reducing spending on central office staff and reallocating those funds to teachers.

Supports imposing a "winery tax" to help raise additional funds for school construction.

Supports implementing a bonus system for effective teachers using a systematic evaluation process that incorporates improved test scores and feedback from parents, administrators, and other teachers.

Leslie Pryor is from Albemarle County, Virginia. She has a bachelor "s degree from Virginia State University and is currently completing her master "s degree in public safety at the University of Virginia. She is a board member for Chapman Grove Baptist Church.

Leslie is a program associate and alumni coordinator at the University of Virginia's Sorensen Institute. She previously worked at Region Ten Community Services Board, the Ronald McDonald House, and the Virginia Department of Corrections. She also served as a probation officer and coached basketball at Charlottesville High School and for Charlottesville Parks and Recreation.

Pryor Chosen Interim Rio Rep on Albemarle County School Board ...

Leslie A. Pryor is currently an interim member of the Albemarle County School Board, representing the Rio District. She was appointed in January 2025 to fill the vacancy left by the late Chuck Pace and will serve until December 31, 2025. The Rio District seat will appear on the general election ballot on November 4, 2025, with the elected candidate serving a full four-year term.

Plans to focus on improving academic performance, particularly for children living below the poverty line.
