Ty is originally from South Ozone Park. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from St. John’s University. He lives in Southeast Queens.

Ty currently works as district chief of staff in the New York City Council. He previously worked as deputy chief of staff, director of community outreach and events, and scheduling and events coordinator for Council Member Adrienne Adams. He also worked for the Southern Queens Park Association as a special assistant to the executive director, director of the sports and dance camp, assistant program director, and camp counselor.
