Unfortunately, during our visits to local libraries over the course of the last ten years or so, we have found them nearly empty during each visit. Additionally, they did not have any of the books we were looking for, nor the language course that my wife required to study for her overseas commitment. By all appearances, it would seem that the relevance of the local library may have been superseded by technology."

Unfortunately, during our visits to local libraries over the course of the last ten years or so, we have found them nearly empty during each visit... By all appearances, it would seem that the relevance of the local library may have been superseded by technology. Given that, I think we should have a look at all library attendance records history before we can have a serious conversation [about closing public library branches]."
