John has spent over 40 years teaching government at Heidelberg University. He is also an adviser and consultant at Madonna University and at the American University of Malta.

John Bing's campaign for member of county central committee is his first run for public office.

- As part of the statewide committee, this member helps manage how a political party runs, coordinates activities, and sets party policy. 
- They may also identify candidates to run for office, coordinate campaigns, and raise money.
- Major parties (Republicans and Democrats) elect their county central committee members as one person from each election precinct or from each city ward and each township. The party chooses which option to use, and whether members will serve 2-year or 4-year terms.
