David was raised in Durham, North Carolina and spent his summers working on the family farm just outside of Four Oaks, North Carolina. He received his Bachelors in Business and Economics, and his Bachelors in Agricultural Business Management, Agricultural Economics and Chemistry. 

David has spent the entirety of his career working in politics. Before being a congressman, he served on the NC Senate. Prior to this, he worked on many campaigns for conservative candidates in North Carolina. He also worked with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. 

David Rouzer was first elected to Congress in 2014. He has held the position for 10 years, completing 5 terms. David is a founding member of the Congressional Coastal Communities Caucus, a bipartisan group of members working to address issues unique to those living in coastal communities around the country. Before serving in Congress, he also served two terms in the NC Senate.
