Jamey is married to his wife, Lora, together they have a daughter and 2 sons. He is a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he serves as the treasurer and teaches Bible study.

Jamey served in a police department for 23 years before resigning in 2022. He has also been involved in coaching and mentoring for Ray Childers Elementary Athletics. In 2009, he began working in a family business, gaining experience in business operations and management. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from Woman’s College in Greensboro, NC, as well as a master's degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
