Mera has been a resident of Louisville Metro Council District 18 for more than 30 years. She attended Presentation Academy and earned a bachelor's degree from Hanover College. She lives in the city of Lyndon with her husband, Kartik, their son, Henlee, and their rescued Chow Chow, Mynx.
