Amelia graduated from the University of the South Pacific in Fiji with majors in economics and politics and post-graduate studies in business administration. Amelia is a Kennedy School of Government graduate of Harvard's Executive Leadership certificate and the East-West Center's Gender-Inclusive Leadership certificate. Amelia and her late husband Miti have 5 children. She is a member of the DeKalb Republican Party, the National and Georgia Federation of Republican Women, and the North DeKalb Republican Women.
