Eddie is from Shellman. He is married to his wife Deborah, with whom he has 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Eddie lives in Randolph County. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Deacons Board of St. Luke Baptist Church.

Eddie previously worked as chief deputy of Randolph County Sheriff's Office and as chief of the Cuthbert Police Department. He also worked as a sergeant for the Dawson County Police Department.

The County Sheriff is an elected official who acts as the chief law enforcement officer in their county. They are tasked with operating the county jails, keeping courtrooms secure during trials, and keeping the public safe through proper law enforcement.
