Jorge is originally from Bogotá, Colombia. He has lived in the United States since he was 13. He has bachelor's degrees in economics and history from Duke University and a law degree from Yale. He lives with his wife, Tyler. They have three children.

Jorge used to be the executive director of Northwest Immigrants Rights Project, where he provided legal services for immigrants. He used to be an assistant director in the film industry.

Sarah has lived in the 4th district for 25 years. She has a bachelor's degree from Smith College and a law degree and a master's degree from the University of Washington.

Sarah is managing assistant attorney general for King County, where she works on environmental and public health cases. She used to be a a lecturer on administrative law for public managers at the University of Washington, a research assistant for Governor Christine Gregoire and a legislative aide in the state senate.
