Amy used to be an associate attorney at the law firm of Farrell & Croft. She served as a part-time prosecutor for the City of Manassas Park and the Town of Haymarket, as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney at the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Prince William County, and as a partner at law firm Farrell & Croft.

Amy K. Ashworth is currently the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. She was first election in 2019 and has been in office for one term.

As commonwealth's attorney, she enforced a comprehensive non-discrimination policy in the office that includes every protected class in Virginia.

As commonwealth's attorney, she worked closely with local law enforcement and community leaders to make sure the justice system has the knowledge necessary to support the fair administration of justice in Prince William County.
