Allyson Gevertz is a native of Enid, Oklahoma. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Emory University and holds a Master's degree in School Psychology from Tufts University.   Allyson and her husband have two children.

Allyson worked for many years as a School Psychologist in Gwinnett County Schools before turning to public service in DeKalb County. She has served as the Board of Directors Chair for the DeKalb Day League and as the President of the Junior League DeKalb County.

Allyson Gevertz is the current member of the DeKalb County Board of Education for District 4.
