She has a bachelors of science in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from Brenau University. She also has a masters of arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University, and a doctorate of education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Argosy University at Sarasota. She is a member of the Order of the Eastern Start, and Traveler’s Rest Baptist Church in Morrow, Georgia. She has one son.

She also is an Instructional Support Specialist for Dekalb County School System. She previously worked at AdvanceED, Dekalb County School District, Atlanta Public Schools, and Fulton County Schools.
