Newton County Schools

Abigail has lived in Newton County for her entire life. She went to Newton County High School. She has a bachelor's degree in political science from Emory University. She lives in Covington with her husband, Derek, and their two children, who attend Newton County schools.

Abigail worked as legislative assistant for Lt. Governor Pierre Howard, a legislative liaison for the Department of Corrections, and public information officer for the Department of Corrections. During college, she was a staffer on state-wide political campaigns and worked in the Georgia State Senate's Public Information Office.

Abigail Coggin is currently the board of education member for District 5. She was first elected in 2010.
