What experiences have best prepared you to hold elected office?
Over the past five years, I have provided over 10,000 hours of community service to organizations. I have spoken with and advocated for several members of the Georgia community. I have even assisted several businesses in eight counties obtain their business licenses, and adopted two state roads. I've done all of this while being a mom and home-schooling my children. I am determined to help advocate for the men, women, adults, children and some pets in an effort to alleviate some of the pain and stress of every day life. I hold true to having an open door policy with the people of the 64th district.
What would be your top priority upon winning office?
I am a civil rights leader.
What actions would you take to enhance government transparency and trust in government?
An open door policy is necessary. Individuals must understand that transparency with an open door policy will only work if we work together as a team. To begin with, telephone access and quicker email responses should be mandatory.
Do you believe Georgia elections are secure and what additional security measures can be taken?
In life, sometimes, errors occur. It doesn't matter if you use a system, a car, a blender, etc. Things go wrong. However, Georgia's constitution provides a clear and fair way of handling a situation where there may be a breech in security. There will always be better security measures to take when dealing with people and electronics.
What is government's responsibility to ensure affordable housing?
There should be better incentives for homeownership. There needs to be regulatory changes. The fed needs to have less of a role in zoning decisions.
Do you believe public access to public records is sufficient in your jurisdiction and, if not, what steps do you support to remedy that?
Access to public records is sufficient in her jurisdiction. However, handling the situations that occurs after individuals gain access to those records could improved in various ways.
