What experiences have best prepared you to hold elected office?
Current vice chair of the Georgia Black Republican Council, former executive board member of GCGOP, and longtime community supporter through Rotary, the Salvation Army, my local church and other organizations that protect children and families.
What would be your top priority upon winning office?
My only priority is making sure the residents of Senate District 5 have a voice under the Gold Dome that has their best interests at heart.
What actions would you take to enhance government transparency and trust in government?
Every citizen should have access to transparency so that trust in our elected officials and the government as a whole. The only limits should be matters of state or national security. This means helping to remove red tape that blocks access for constituents.
Do you believe Georgia elections are secure and what additional security measures can be taken?
Georgia elections are secure. However, there is always more that can be done to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat. This includes what we have done to protect drop boxes from ballot stuffing.
What is government's responsibility to ensure affordable housing?
Limited. The economy should be strong enough to support housing at any level including “affordable.” If families made enough money to take care of themselves we wouldn’t be talking about affordable housing.
Do you believe public access to public records is sufficient in your jurisdiction and, if not, what steps do you support to remedy that?
There are administrative hurdles people who want access to information via public records requests have to go through. There are simple fixes to hold officials accountable. Removing the unnecessary barriers to public access should be a bipartisan effort that can be easily identified and corrected.
