What experiences have best prepared you to hold elected office?

I was a banker with SunTrust for 10 years and a small business owner for 40 years. I am now a local Realtor. These experiences have given me a knowledge of finance, how to maintain a budget and manage employees and in-depth knowledge of the locals area that I will serve.

What would be your top priority upon winning office?

I pledge transparent governance that will restore faith in our County Commission. I'll review our tax system, ensuring we keep Cobb County the wonderful place to live and work that it is now, but without overburdening our taxpayers. I want to see our neighborhoods be safe havens for our families. I want to see Cobb that thrives for future generations.

What actions would you take to enhance government transparency and trust in government?

Through town hall meetings and open forums, I want to ensure that every voice has a chance to be heard. There will not be undisclosed meetings or hidden committee formations. Still, I want to shine a bright light on our local government to partner closely with our cities and excellent chamber of commerce to provide an efficient and cooperative environment for all our citizens to thrive.

Do you believe Georgia elections are secure and what additional security measures can be taken?

Georgia's elections were very secure until the pandemic required the sending out a massive number of absentee ballots. In my opinion, the collection was not adequately controlled, making it all too easy to manipulate the results. I do feel that our legislation and Gov. Brian Kemp have made great strides in securing our future election process. By working with our election board to maintain current voter registration information and properly training our poll workers, we can ensure very secure elections.

What is government's responsibility to ensure affordable housing?

The government can facilitate making housing security a reality for a larger part of the population by employing a combination of various strategies. Strategies such as public-private partnerships, tax incentives to builders, and down payment assistance are just a few of the ones that can be pursued.

Do you believe public access to public records is sufficient in your jurisdiction and, if not, what steps do you support to remedy that?

Access to public records here in Cobb County seems to depend on what you request. Some requests are honored quickly, while others are not responded to at all. I think it is vital to have all public records available at all times to the public, and I want to institute a climate of openness and cooperation between our government and the people we serve.
